Dan loved to cook.
His recipes were all over the kitchen, scribbled on paper or stained recipe cards and stuck in cookbooks or drawers. To help organize them, I got him a cookbook software program for Christmas in 1999.
The first thing he was asked to enter was a title for his cookbook. Anxious to get started, he typed DF's Gourmet Extravaganza, off the top of his head. Since that would take up way too much room in the menu bar, I'm sure he wouldn't mind us using the pithy, if unimaginative, "Recipes" for the page title.
Here are some of Dan's favorite recipes, as he wrote them. These were created for his quick reference, so some of the ingredients don't have a measurement noted - Dan used a pinch of that and a dash of this, and that's just how he rolled. The results were always delicious.
